About Mehul Gadhia

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mehul Gadhia, DMD, has been a periodontist with PerioCare for nearly 15 years. Active with the American Academy of Periodontology, Dr. Mehul Gadhia is also founder and president of The South Charlotte Study Club. This organization brings together more than 100 dental professionals each month for continuing education meetings.

Dr. Gadhia earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Central Florida in microbiology and biology, and at age 19 had the life altering experience of being shot in the head during the robbery of an Orlando Subway Sandwich shop where he worked. Able to recover from this traumatic experience, he went on to attend the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and served as student body president during his senior year. After receiving his dental degree, he then attended the periodontal residency program at University of North Carolina at Chapel hill and received his Masters in Periodontics.

Dr. Gadhia was recognized through the Straumann Implant Dentistry Scholarship Award. He also authored the article "A New Implant Design For Optimal Esthetics and Retention of Interproximal Papillae” (Implant Dentistry, 2003). Dr. Mehul Gadhia is a strong community advocate who volunteers with the Missions of Mercy (MOMS) free clinic in providing dental care to those without means.
